Our Purpose and Approach

Investment Beliefs

The Fund’s goals are to strengthen the financial sustainability of the State of Sarawak and enhance the State’s wealth for future generations of Sarawakians, through prudent investments in diversified financial assets.

In achieving those goals, the following set of beliefs are held by the Board:

  • To adopt a long-term investment strategy and mindset, consistent with the Fund’s time horizon
  • To place capital preservation as the key goal in the early stages, and growing wealth as the long-term goal
  • To achieve better risk adjusted investment returns by diversifying through asset class and geography
  • To leverage external investment managers to execute investment strategies on behalf of the Fund in the initial years

These beliefs will guide decision making and shape the Fund’s approach to investing by enhancing discipline and consistency, while improving transparency.
